Greetings all, I need a new engine cover. The present one is a big slab of plywood. 5ftx4ftx2ft and sits outside on deck. Has anyone got any ideas about a more elegant design?

It's quite easy to make a mould from conti board: screw together and round the internals with filler, break the mould to release. Lay up by hand, or if you can find a GRP shop with a spraygun, very quickly moulded. Then you'll need lots of sound insulation cos it'll drum like fury.

It's non-structural, so get hold of some weatherproof MDF and construct yourself a nice little engine box. Apply some fancy scrollwork with a router, seal with epoxy and paint it.
