The engine anode one my Lister Alpha 30HP is a 10mm dia., 20mm length and comes complete with the brass nut which has a housing for the anode to push into. I think it is glued in, it is certainly not treaded.
What glue would be used to secure it? I am thinking of just buying the anode and glueing it in in future.
Thanks in advance.

Anodes need to be electrically connected to the engine block in order to function. Glue would probably be an insulator that would not provide the desired conductivity. I suggest your anode is either pressed or screwed into the base.

I think you will find it is cast in place - that is the molten zinc is poured into the screw housing - otherwise there is no way of fitting it to the block. On the Yanmar they use a stud, but same principle.
