Looking at the diagrams of the internal working of the Enfield leg it would not appear to be a problem to run them with a left-handed propellor. The gears are similar to those in most outboards, many of which can be operated with left or right handed propellors by reversing the gear linkage.

As has been said, Volvo leg can be configured for left or right handed propellors simply by reversing the gear linkage. The reversing gear on Volvos is at the top of the leg. On Enfields it is at the bottom, like most outboards.

The main reason that it is unwise to run a drive in reverse for prolonged periods is due to the design of the thrust bearings but the thrust would still be in the forward direction with a left-handed propellor going forwards.

Whether it is worth reconfiguring this particular boat really depends on how she handles with the current set up. Presumably it has been running like this for about 35 years so it is probably not a major problem.
