Dear all,

my partner and i are considering buying an Endurance 37, GRP hull built in 1986 in Knysna yard in S Africa, can anyone out there point us in the direction of sources of further information about these fine looking boats. I want to know everything from deck structure to sail handling. Before anyone suggests it, yeah i have googled it to death!

Thanks

Sarah

This is a Peter Ibold design, I believe. In recent months there has been a YBO or YM article about the fitting out of a new one. Sorry I can't locate my copy.

At sea somewhere.
Can't help much regarding sailing qualities as the one I sailed was a schooner and the kindest thing I can say is that it didn't sail fast up wind and it didn't sail fast downwind. In fact it needed about a Force 5 to get going at all.

The build quality seems to have varied a lot. I think some Endurances were yard built and some were home finished. If its a home finished one it really depends on the skills of the individual who did it. Some can be good and some can be awful...
