There have been several threads on here in the past about VHF radios with built in AIS transceivers. Standard Horizon were supposed to be making one, but it never materialised. Well, i just had an email from Emtrak about the new X100, looks interesting ;

Looks great, but £1580 incl vat? Seems a lot but certainly has some nice features. The ‘phone as command mic’ deffo nice.

Yes, the phone thing looks useful, saves an expensive 2nd handset. They won't sell for RRP, estimate they'll be about £1230
