Retired Royal Navy captain, 82, arrested on suspicion of arson after he 'drove car into sailing club which had only just re-opened after £350,000 renovation' - and it burst into flames. Reported today

was this a member with a grudge? Sad news after all the work that had been done upgrading the Club.

Newspapers do print some tripe;
The Telegraph's illiterate subeditor said:
Witnesses claimed the driver twice aborted his run up before careering into the clubhouse at around 70 mph on his third attempt.
If he'd been doing 70 mph the car would have been through the building and out the other side.

Emsworth SAILING Club actually; 1 of 2 in town, the other being Emsworth Slipper SC, named after the Slipper Mill it is based on, in fact Emsworth is or was full of mills & ponds, the stricken ESC is by one too.

This incident is extremely sad and the act of someone, apparently a good and respected popular person under a lot of strain who needs help.
