emergency tiller

Hi All
I recently bought a Finnsailer 35 motor Sailer. It has hydraulic steering with two steering positions. It has an emergency manual tiller but this does not operate as there needs to be a valve enabling the fluid to return when operating manually. Can't find anything like that.
Anyone have any information ?

not familiar with your boat, but on mine (flying bridge so two helm stations) there's a smallish square box (say 100X100mm) under the lower helm position with a small screw in the middle, when you undo it, helms do bugger all (and you then can use the emergency tiller which I assume fits mechanically on top of the rudder stock somehow.
Basically, trace the hydraulic lines from the lower helm going aft and you should find it. Wont be hidden badly, as it has to be accessible

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense. I have been looking for a valve along the fluid lines. I will check again over the weekend.

There is also a 'Mate' auto helm connected into the fluid lines.
