Looking at the emergency RV points along the Thames I was amazed to see the glaring error for my area.
Firstly it is identified as Ferry Lane Goring. DUH! They mean Ferry Lane Moulsford.
Secondly that site is now and has been unsuitable for many years due to developments at and around the Beetle & Wedge. Certainly one Fire Engine would totally block everything leaving no room for any other vehicles.

The best site is now Ferry Lane South Stoke. Ample room for loads of vehicles. A slipway, helicopter landing pad.

I wonder who makes these decisions and how you draw their attention to what could be a catastrophe.

I think we discussed these errors a few years ago, so looks like nothing has changed.

Come to think of it, I think you are right Ian. Ah! Well! maybe someone from Envag will pick it up this time 'cos I'm blowed if I am going to try contacting dim witted couldn't care less council employees.

When I last looked at the list there were errors at all the locations I was familiar with, I have seen at least two incidents where it has gone wrong.

First was an electric boat on fire just upstream of Wallingford bridge and the fire services arrived at Benson Marina to launch their dinghy which was the wrong side of the lock! We were in the lock about to leave on the right side when they arrived and were asked to take a paramedic down with a de-fib machine to save time!

Second incident was at the Bounty pub in Bourne End which caught fire recently, emergency services arrived at the nearest RV point at Bourne-End marina which is the wrong side of the river! Fortunately one Fire Engine must have had local knowledge and drove across the moor from the Cookham side.

Its really quite farsical and so easily recitified.
