Hi,
I'm looking for an EPIRB and I have the ACR-EPIRB GlobalFIX V 4 in my view.
I hope that I never have to use it, but if so, the region would be Italy and Croatia.
What do you think, should this stuff be on board? Are there other tools to
complete the electronic emergency call (of course VHF, etc...) equipments?
Are there other Epirbs to consider? Which one should I buy?

Any 406 , we have one and a the smaller hand held , so two just incase .
They need a timely service I think 4/5 yrs for new batteries you send them away out of season.
Get a life raft as well , we have a 10 p .
Safely pass across the Adriatic happily in the knowledge you will survive and will be picked up .

The ACR GlobalFIX is a 406 MHz and a 121,5 MHz sender. The alternative EPIRB is the MC Murdo Smart Find G8 AIS. Both are sending their signal over 406MHz and 121,5 MHz. In addition to both signals the Mc Murdo is equipped with AIS and/but costs 400 € more. Is this well invested money? What do you use? What is more common or popular?
Thanks Kurt
