After some recommendations We have amongst others been looking at the elling E3 as a possible live aboard we was impressed by the class A rating the elling has as well as the good reports we have heard.
If anyone has had 1st hand experience of the elling we wish to know if there are any BAD points
Also any other possible live aboard we may have missed
Many thanks

Yes, I have an E3 and we've done 4000 miles in 2 years. When you asked last time, I mentioned that we were passing through Dover on our way back to Holland - but didn't hear from you.

Bad points? I'm probably biased however we didn't like the stern on the older E3s. Its a bit too vertical really, and the steps lift up to reveal a "garage". To get in there whilst underway wouldn't be my idea of fun. This is the older style:

That space is now the ensuite heads for the aft cabin on the newer boat - which we prefer. It does mean your outside storage space is reduced, though the seat on the deck is fairly cavernous.

For a live-aboard boat, things like the Kabola heating are fantastic - though on the very newest model they're now doing underfloor heating in the "deck saloon" which is a nice idea.

The photos from the build of our boat may interest you and if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask away or PM me and I'll do my best /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
