Very easy to say, but when your floating on a timber bat with smoke coming out from any gaps around your feet. Feeling the deck head not knowing if its getting warmer or not, wondering if its correct to open the engine compartment to let it cool down or shut down the ventilation to stop the fire spreading....

I would certainly be advising the coast guard of a fire first and standing it down later...

Hind sight is great though when you get assistance and think oh that's all it was... Try having that at the time!
 
Remember the fishing boat that sank in Fleetwood Dock where the owner and his dad had to sort it themselves?
Yet a pretty young thing can come along with basically a houseboat with some quite unseaworthy characteristics and charm a load of men not only into supporting her cause but in the case of some businesses parting with free goods and services
Sorry I don't get it!
This boat will probably go the same way of many similar boats you can see moored for the rest of their days on rivers like the Thames.

Clearly I'm missing something. A Google search for Elizmoor reveals nothing but links that return to this thread, yet it is presented here as something that we might be expected to recognise.
