Electronics specialist in Mallorca needed
I am having trouble with the Raymarine electronics on the boat. I would prefer to have an independent specialist look at the system to recommend the solution. Has anyone had any dealings with people in Mallorca that they could recommend please let me know. The problem we have is intermittent .:ambivalence:
Cheers

Yes i know about the cost we are in port Colom just now.
The autopilot will make a course change all by itself with no warning some times it will not connect with the system.
So at night sailing i can't trust it. i have looked at all the easy things i.e. wire and stuff, it needs fixing or replacing.
I could go to raymarine but i think they will just replace it. If i do have to replace it I would like the B&G . I currently have the std Raymarine set up which is now 8 years old. I am not sure if the Raymarine would be compatible with the B&G system. If I don't get it fixed here, we are on our way to the Canaries so i could get it looked at anywhere between here, Mallorca and Gibraltar before leaving for the Canaries. where would you suggest?

Assuming you are heading to canaries for winter or an Atlantic crossing (ARC) etc I'd replace it with new and not try repairing kit that old.

Palma has every support you need - at a price - take a look at enaval.com for electronics

Between Palma and canaries I'd choose gib for any repairs simply as its so much cheaper

Good luck

Try Reiner Popp at Yachtecpro. (Email: info@yachtecpro.com Tel: +34 696 747 694). he worked on my battery problem (just mention Pasha to him!) a couple of weeks ago. Very good/efficient

Good luck, Alan

Reiner charges Euros 57/hour. You won't get much cheaper in Gib (I know, I've been there and tried that)
