Simplest answer is to cut off the connector on both the radio and the supply end. Use crimp type knife, bullet or handshake connectors to make a removable connection for both wires. If the radio connector is not on the end of leads but is mounted on the case then you might have to open up the box and wire 2 new leads fromn the inside of the connector or direct onto the pins.
To be foolproof have a different style connector for +ve and -ve. good luck olewill
That plug pushes into a recess on the back of the radio which has male pins in it & I should be able to resolve this I think without major surgery but thanks for the suggestion.
