For years we've used electric toothbrushes on board but it seems that the recent generation fail when trying to re-charge using a square wave inverter (Heart).
As far as I'm aware it's an inductive coil inside a 'potted' holder which shouldn't be effected by wave form.
All other chargers, razor, computers, phones etc no problems.
Any thoughts?

I knew about this and have always been careful to use an older model on our inverter. I even worried about running via our Honda Eu20i and it has a very good inverter (our microwave works with it but takes 25%-30% longer to cook).

Recently fried our newer toothbrush on shorepower because I'd left the inverter on when connecting to mains power and plugged in the charger. We were going out and only noticed a couple of hours later. I'll need to have a look at the charger but it's probably sealed.

On plus side, I discovered that our old charger works with the new toothbrush and it has always been fine with the inverter.

i too fried my toothbrush charger using a cheap square wave inverter. An electronics guru told me that a square wave operates a bit like the ignition circuit in a points ignition car, where the cut off produced a big voltage peak in the induction coil enough to blow the electronics. Makes sense to me.

Just charge it on your USB charger. You can get electric toothbrush chargers for USB sockets for all the different brands on eBay for £3.
