When I give my old Yam air cooled 2T a pull and it gets going. I tend to ignore the polution, as it has a very low carbon footprint after 37 yrs.

I hope he is not on hols in Oz (well hope he is actually - lovely weather in the tropics), seems a bit hefty for hand luggage and if he is sailing back you won't see it till next year at the earliest.
