Jimi is yer man for this.
He approached mine as a surgeon, spanner, scalpels and face mask at the ready. Some hours later he emerged victorious, his face wreathed in a smile of sorts, mascerator in hand and trundled off to get the replacement. Once fitted, the whole shooting match worked perfectly and has done so these past 10 years. Aye, nae doobt - when it comes tae fixin cludgies, Wee Jamesie has nae equal.....

Mine is the rather superior Dometic.
I can sniff at the Jabsco woes.

Does sound like bad luck though. ALl the pumps on my boat have operated for 10 years with no failures thus far.

So had mine, the problem is that they only fail when in use, or should I say after use!

Only after replacing the electric pump on my Matromarine toilet did I realise that it would have been cheaper to buy a complete new toilet.

I have grown to hate my electric loo, it's not one of the conversion ones, it was made that way, poorly.

Why do I need something so noisy and power hungry aboard?!

You can tell the size of the log from the noise it makes.
