Electric Fan Heaters

Can anyone recommend a decent quiet electric fan heater, what I want is

A fan heater that I can turn down to a very low fan speed setting but still have a high temp setting the cheap ones I have had in the past just have a fairly high / noisy fan speed and kick in and out all the time.

What I want is one that works like a eberspacher on low heat setting where it just purrs along in the back ground nice and quietly but does not keep kicking in and out all the time it just keeps running on a very low speed so it doesn't get too hot quickly. I have oil filled rads but would like a fan heater that does what I mention is there any such product out there

no noise at all but somewhat less compact

I have oil filled electric rads which are good for background heat.

A I cant sleep with Eberspacher on as it sounds like I have a helicopter taking off in the cabin.
B I cant programme Eberspacher for anything other than one hour.

I use fan heaters only when I am onboard, choice noisy or cold, my fanheaters are noisy and constant speed.

Important thing about fan heaters is getting one with a thermal overload cutoff, we use one quite a bit on the boat(s). Just had to buy one for new boat and bought 1 and got it home and had a look and sent it straight back as too big and oscillating which I decided wasn't needed, then for half the price bought this:

Small, nicely made (for a plastic fan heater), very powerful and sturdy with a large base which would be very hard to knock over. I would say quieter than most fan heaters, but certainly not silent! And you cannot turn down the fan setting, only the heat setting... So problably not good whatsoever!

I imagine that a slow fan speed means higher temperatures within the unit, which might explain why they are not typically made that way. A larger fan can turn more slowly for the same amount of air moved, so maybe look at larger units?

fans are quieter that the letter box type

I've bought a few over the years, both radiator+fan type and regular fans. Must say the noice is always there to some extent, alone by moving air. Rattle etc. more than often occur after some use, but my best deal so far was a small, oscillating ceramic heater with tilt safety cut off. Bought a cold evening in Spain, EUR 10.

The Dyson is the mutts but v expensive, we have an Argos ceramic fan heater, brilliant and doesn't "dry" up the air

We have a 3kw electric plinth heater with wireless thermostat, it does what you want, & is nice & tidy tucked away under a seat.

Be aware it doesn't blow heat out like a normal free standing fan heater (fan blow's out about 6 inches) so seems less effective but gets up to temp in our 40 footer , option to turn fan off once up to temp so just keeps it there. We hard wired in with a breaker.

I was in Maplin's today and they were demonstrating a couple of heaters for a customer , maybe worth going round to your local and ask ? they had several out of the boxes on "special winter sale" !! Cheers
