Here inGalicia a small company is marketing a glorified pedalo which carries 4 people and has 6 hours autonomy and uses electricity.......apparently this means you don’t need any qualifications and it will be marketed as a fun thing for tourists.......without life jackets by the looks of the publicity.Xouba whichis Galician for sardine! Is the company.Why being electric means you don’t need some form of permission to use it as the Spanish are usual required to do is mystery!

It's Xouva, not Xouba! Interesting concept for tourism-related rental business. Uses a Torqeedo outboard. Wheelchair accessible too - what could possibly go wrong?

On our local bit of the Charente. There is an outfit that has a café and boat rental. Several electric along with 4T outboards, with rotomoulded canoes. They seem to do quite well
In France, if you rent, they do not require the normal licence. i.e. over 6hp , under that, no requirements .
Sailing boats do not need a licence to drive, regardless of the power, as long as sail is the primery drive.
