it's a fine vessel, well done EJ.
I bet he can't wait for this year's Monaco GP as his boat will be there I am sure and perhaps he will rent it out to the BBC for their base for the race

Ah, I think you've hit on his business model there!I bet he can't wait for this year's Monaco GP as his boat will be there I am sure and perhaps he will rent it out to the BBC for their base for the race![]()
The only knowledge of 'EJ' is from Chris Evans on R2. The experience he donates for the 'Children in Need' appeal is amazing.
Just been reported on R5 that Eddies new squeeker is costing him £32M. Now I know it's a big boat, but that does sound rather more than I would expect it to be. Having said that I've no real idea what the real cost would be, I'd be guessing at approx £10 -15M.
What do you reckon? Same report said it would cost £30,000 to fuel it up. Of course, all depends on where he buys his diesel, but I'd expect it to cost more than that.
We took the boat into Monaco for the GP last year. Someone told us about a party involving some of the teams at a venue along the coast the day after the GP, so we cruised past on the way home. It all looked pretty quiet, but we anchored off for lunch anyway. While we were eating, EJ's current boat pulled into the bay, and shortly after their tender went ashore full of people. We weren't quite sure what the deal was, so I called the restaurant, made it clear we didn't have an invite, but asked if we could go in for cocktails anyway. They told me it was no problem, and sent their launch to collect us.
It turned out to be the event that Chris Evans had been talking about on his R2 show, and had auctioned tickets as part of Children in Need. Chris was there with the winning R2 listeners, along with Jason Plato, and Keke Rosberg (Nico's dad). We felt a bit uneasy at first that we were gate crashing, but that feeling eased quite a bit with each Mojito we drank, and it ended up being a great party, with EJ playing drums with his band, plus the odd session on the spoons.
It was dark by the time we left, and we later eased our consciences with some worthwhile donations to Children in Need.
