Snowy mate, your formula is not "wrong" but it is, like similar formulas for monohulls an approximate generalisation which is not scientifically derived from hydrodynamic data.
The same displacement could be achieved with very long thin hulls as with short fat ones but the long thin ones will be much faster for the same displacement. It's easier to push a "pencil" through the water than a housebrick even if they weigh the same.
