First weekend of May (after the Wedding/BH) I am directed to take my Father in Law and his pals for a weekend on the boat. I thought of taking them downriver this time and wondered about mooring up near/at Eel Pie and visitng the Barmey Arms. I know squat about mooring options there, its somewhere I pass on the other side as 'twere. Could some knowledgable soul advise. AFAIK there's not really anywhere in Richmond per se, unless someone knows better. They like their beers but are not too agile these days so climbing dock ladders etc is out! Probably a lunch stop on a Saturday unless there is good reason to overnight.

There is still water there at low tide but you probably need a bit more water than i do . the last set of steps from the barmy is the deepest as its used by the working boats . As you are part of a club do you not have special handshaking arrangements with other cluds for moorings ?
You have Richmond and twickenham clubs on the island and just at the rear of york house gardens .
Other than that there is eel pie boat yard and the lion boat house that you could ask to over night at .

Twick Yacht Club is your best bet, that way you can drift between the Swan and the Barmey...

The problem with Twickenham YC is that you can't get off the pontoon without access to the club which is only open on sunday morning. At Richmond YC you can exit through the garden. If you need a contact, PM me.

Last time i was at Richmond it was a dock ladder to the pontoon . Twickenham is a better bet if you can arrange a key . I thought the whole point of being in a club was that you get to use the other clubs on the river ? Or was that just in the old days . Or not the case at all
