Just had a look at the Sandettie Lightship - 51kts 7.9ft wave height and 60.1F!:( Not much tidal flow right now fortunately. AIS stuff shows a lot of vessels at slower speed except for most Cross Channel ferries still doing 21 Kts.

I think it is often windier at Landguard and at Shotley, presumably funnelling effects? Shotley is current;y gusting to 60Kts.

My slow to respond wind instrument has peaked so far at 43kts but from experience it under-reads by about 10% and it doesn't respond quickly to gusts

I think it can be summed up as ... bloody windy!

Can't get to the boat until Sunday, working double shifts to cover - could someone look at LK's pontoon cleats? Cheers to Rog for unclipping our boarding ladder last week.

Thanks.

I've been aboard at Shotley since Tuesday night, and before leaving this afternoon I fished out one of the big cubic pontoon letter signs, which must have blown off at some point in the last few days! Nice day yesterday to get the sails down, however. :)

I added a few more fenders - as I do each winter - and re-strapped a neighbour's sprayhood which had come undone, and was about to collapse. Somebody else did the same for yet another sprayhood - so if you're leaving yours up, don't forget to check and tighten the straps!
