EDC won't rev

Yesterday all was fine, then this morning my starboard engine will not rev beyond idle. Everything appears normal, have checked props, belts fluids etc.
Diagnostic comes up with a 2.5'which means the engine should stop !
I can see nothing wrong.
Would disconnecting the batteries clear the EDC diagnosis?

Could it simply be a voltage issue as the inverter was left on all night, which I don't usually do.

Yes. Make sure your batteries / charger / alternator are in good condition.
