Why would you fit an echosounder instead of a fishfinder /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Apart from the display matching existing instruments, I can't think of a reason

Nor I. Fitted a fish finder around 3 years ago when our depth sounder shuffled off this mortal coil. Around half the price, but a whole lot more information. Gets my vote.

Shame about the squeaking when I forget to turn it off whilst on the pontoon. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Had no idea there were so many eels in Dartmuff.

Fish finder will do about the same I reckon I would offer more advice and opinions but its" more than my jobsworth "
