Echopilot FLC

I am considering the purchase of a Echopilot (Foward looking sonar) Gold model.
Has anybody any experience with the above mentioned units.

Any comments will highly appreciated.

Byron's opo Clive had one. So he might be able to offer some detail.

All I remember was that it didn't last long as he knocked it off. So it obviously didn't see that coming!

That's right Andy, the 'bulb' that houses the transducer is deliberately designed to be knocked off. This is to protect the hull being wrenched. Clive doesn't remember hitting anything and thinks it was just a little bit of wood or something. Anyways it's costing a bundle and a bit to replace it.
