Echo sounder in Sadler 26

Unable to find a repeater for my old, but good, Seafarer echo sounder, I've bought a Cruiser Target 2 unit, to be mounted in the cockpit. The instructions advise against mounting the transducer in a hull more than 18mm. thick. Does the double hull of the 26 make this unit unsuitable?

you can mount it, but as a through hull unit only

Not familiar with the 26, but I had a 29. There were areas of the bottom up forrard where the hull was single skin without the foam-filled interior lining, with one position under the V of the forecabin bunk specifically intended for transducers. Suspect there may be something similar in your boat somewhere.
