After the 1st days voting the results are:-
Looking at the favourite date it seems to be close with 14th/15th in the lead with 17 21st/22nd on 16 and the ester weekend last with 12.

The favoured venue seems to be Shotley with 18 with the Green Man on 15 and Titchmarsh on 12.

Be interesting to see how it pans out.

Doubt I will go to any of them but...

Phoned the Green Man a few weeks ago, had a table for two available, mentioned my guide dog, and suddenly made very unwelcome indeed. Told I could sit in the 'childrens room', wherever that it, because they have carpet in the restaurant. Tried to explain that Inca is a GUIDE DOG and that he has been to the opera, ballet, some very posh hotels and many not so posh ones, he has not got fleas, will not mess on the carpet, lays down under my chair or table when not working, that he is a guide dog NOT a pet.

Finally spoke to the manager/owner, who was blunt to the point of rudeness, guide dogs not welcome.

Funny thing is we ate there WITH Inca back in August, no problem.

We went to the Bistro in Danbury instead, no one mentioned my guide dog, had a nice meal etc.

Ignorant discriminatory attitude on the part of the Green Man, but there you are.

Pity.

fyi - I've made a provisional booking at the Shipwreck, Shotley for 14th April (currently the favoured option). I wanted to do this before they close next week (until the end of January) and they have given me until first week of Feb to confirm.

Please let me know if this is hugely disappointing for you and I'll have another look. It is only a provisional booking as the poll results may change again.

T'aint great from a work p.o.v. for us - may be do-able but the following weekend would be much much better! Location is fine - wasn't greatly impressed by the Green Man when we visited last year and recent reports don't impress either!
