I admit I've been away for too long, and have forgotten that the name of a club has no relationship to its location. Royal Harwich YC = near Harwich or at least in the same county! :eek::confused:

I belonged to the Royal Corinthian YC -turns out nowhere near the Gulf of Corinth. I was pretty angry actually, as Mrs FC was reading the brochures and lathering up with the Ambre Solaire.

A not uncommon problem, we have had competitors for Open Meetings arrive rather late at times.

A couple of years ago a Dutchman who had entered the North Sea race asked his secretary to book rooms for him and his crew for the couple of nights they were over here, and found when he arrived with his yacht at the club she had booked him rooms in Harwich.:eek:
He had to get a minibus to take them back and forth.

As it will be Jan and my first attendance at an ECF function, can I enquire what is the dress code - if any?
We are looking forward to meeting fellow forumites, AFAIK PyroJames is the only member I have met.
