I expect the German rip off merchants will be toast within a year or two.

It could be sooner than that as far as UK consumers are concerned.
Unless the German suppliers reduce their price accordingly the price of goods imported from the EU will rise by the appropriate import duty rate..... after Brexit.

Earlier this year the ECU for my Eberspacher cost almost as much as a complete Chinese heater kit. But it was an easy DIY fit.
