I'm fitting a replacement control unit, it's just the mini unit with rotary control - long story - but the wiring colours don't match! There are five wires on the control unit and six on the loom, there's a red, a yellow and a grey but the other two wires don't correspond even remotely to the colours on the loom! Does anyone know what the colour to colour match is?
Thanks - Simon (Eber Airtronic D5)

You shouldfind the D5 manual at www.espar.com. the switch should have red and the trigger wire yellow. there should be red/slate and brown/white to convey the heat setting and probably brown for the light neg. Your switch may have fan only and I don't know the colour for that. If the switch has its own thermostat then the grey lead will be used ( but you may prefer to retain the thermostat in the heater in which case the grey lead is not used)

Yes got those - but apart from the grey, red and yellow the two other colours on the control switch don't correspond with the colours on the loom - the wire colours from the more complex heater controler did :(

It may be that the loom has been extended with whatever wire was available at the time, so the colours at the connection may differ! Probably best to identify the appropriate wire at source and trace through the loom to ensure you get the right ones.
