The boat came with one of these diesel heaters.

No idea of its age.

I plan to remove it and have it looked at by a professional with a view to a thorough service.

I heard somewhere that lorries have similar equipment ?

Is there anyone in Suffolk, preferably Ipswich area that does this kind of work ?

Tx in advance

Look up your yellow pages for hgv service centers or the like and phone round. If they don't do the servicing they will know someone who does.

LSUK will do it but at a price. If it is really old you might find no one will touch it.

OK Tx,

Had to ask the question.... as I prefer to use a service that's recommended rather than a name out of the phone book so to speak.

Used Diesco in the past to install and service they are very good 01473216381. However they are not main agents

Colchester Fuel Injection are and fixed one for me under warranty. Think out of the two I liked Colchester one best but further to travel so if you are paying Disco probably cheaper.

if it aint broke don't fix it!!!!

they are possible likely to damage the heat exchanger ( £400) during dismantling.
its happened to be when Lucas were repairing mine a few yrs ago, guess who pays for new parts.
PS saw your very nice she last w/e /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Sailorman,

The heater doesn't work.

It's got to come off anyway. If it's too expensive or beyond repair it's unwanted ballast.

Where did you see us, I've only had the boat a few days ?

Uncomfortable trip over from the Haringvliet on Friday night, quarterly seas and insufficient wind to make good passage time under sail alone. 4 out of 5 of us were seasick on passage !
Just glad to get the boat home. Can't believe I have got so much boat for so little euros !

[/ QUOTE ]O.K., O.K. so the heater does not work. Try some self diagnosis first. What does it do or not do when you switch it on?.

If you search for and read the numerous threads on Eber problems you will see that teh majority of problems can be fixed "DIY" with a little patience and some emery paper or new connectors or even a new fuse in the main power line.

Mine was deemed as "terminally sick" by a so called eber repair chappie but was repaired by myself with a little help and guidance from another eber repair shoppe for around £10 and about 3 hours fiddling.

So - What does your do or not do when you try to start it?
