Hi all
I have been helping a mate on his boat today. Problem was the Eber D5LC would not start. I took the fuel line off and it seemed dry so primed it through with the battery - didn't want to risk lock out as they had tried a few times to get it going.
It is now working ok. Thing is it seems to have a history of this after being not used for a while.
I didnt like the pipe routing - from the pump it goes up higher than the heater, then back down again around a corner and then up to the heater.
I will change the little filter in the pump just to rule it out.

Any suggestions to prevent recurrence please?

Many thanks

Wayne

On my Webby the pump is at the lowest point, stack pipe at the tank then travels down side of tank and roughly 5 feet through a bulkhead to the pump, then approx 5/6 feet up to the heater itself.
My land rover is piped exactly the same way, ie pump at lowest point.

I had a very similar problem which turned out to be a very small air leak on the supply pipe at one of the connections.

Without going off topic too much - I have seen threads where by people was complaining about the ticking noise these fuel pumps make - could you use a more direct pump (cant think of the correct term) which doesnt click ?

Thanks all

The pump is at the correct angle but I am suspecting a tiny air leak so am going to re-pipe .
