Another for you knowledgeable ones, where is the heater unit on a Comanche, its blowing cold air only and I need to fix it. Thanks

Look for the heater exhaust on the outside of the boat - the heater unit should be close to that.

Don't know if it's anything like a Webasto, but that has a switch for either heat or cold air. Quite often we wonder why there's no heat, it's cos the switch is in the wrong position.

Appreciate the help everyone, only had the boat a short while and going around fixing little bits here and there and haven't come across anything that might be a control box or similar. I have got a small black plastic box mounted high up in the saloon that has a higher or lower adjustment but that's all so far. I have not seen a heater exhaust on the outside either... Will keep looking.

Have a closer look at that, there may be a switch with a flame symbol and a fan switch on that small black box, if it is only blowing cold air (and continues without shutting off) then it is a likely culprit as almost all other faults would cause it to shut down completely.

Hi, you seem to have summed it up very well, do you know if there is anything I could try or is it a new/ replacement box.

Impossible to say without being on site or having significantly more info, did you find a small switch? does in continue to run without shutting down. The issue could be anything from the simple switch wrongly positioned problem to a duff ECU with possible wiring issues between.

Before you get too embroiled in fixing and buying parts that 'might' be the problem and depending on the age of the heater I would consider investing in a new unit altogether, unless it's a simple fix of course!

I ended up wasting some time and money on my eber only to decide it was pointless spending money on an old heating system so went for an efficient modern system with warranty etc

Any recommendations on a good value system?

If you by good value you mean cheap(ish) but decent then the M.V. range is worth a look, but only after they have come through Mikuni UK quality control with the proper warranty and service back up, not direct from China through ebay sellers. Top end, really quiet almost to Wallas standard and with sophistocated control systems including monitoring and operation via a Smartphone app then have a look at the Webasto marine range.
