Eberspacher Heaters

Hi Im thinking about installing a Eberspacher D2 Heater in my boat but the 12 volt versions are going for around £450 when you can get a 24 volt version for around half of that,
I have looked at the options, and it seems to complicated to run the 24 volt from the batteries when everything else in the boat runs at 12 volts, so I think the only option is to put in a step up power supply from 12-24 volts, but I know eberspacher Heaters dont work well unless the voltage is stable.

Has anyone tryed using a step up power supply from 12-24volt to run a 24 volt heater?

Are you sure those are the marine versions you are looking at? They seem cheap.

The vehicle versions can be converted for marine use, but you need extra parts and these can be expensive to source. It is more often than not cheaper to just buy the marine kit first time around.
