Mine sucks cold air from the outside, heats it and blows into the cabin. Ive been thinking that this would be more efficient if the intake was diverted to pull air out of the cabin, or would this make it dangerous?
should be ok as all the exaust gas goes outside and all it does is pull air over a hot surface ,no fumes involved, reading the manual there can be a bigger problem drawing the air in from outside if the intake is near its own exaust or the boats exaust due to it being able to suck fumes in.
i'm not sure wether it may create more condesation tho as fresh air is not being introduced
This is not dangerous. Our heater is now fitted as a closed circuit (draws air from the cabin), as recommended by an Eberspacher dealer. It heats the cabin much quicker and the heater backs off sooner too. Only possible draw back is a slight increase in noise from the fan, ours draws air from the quarter berth. Worth doing I would suggest.
go to www.espar.com and download the manual, it gives all the permitted combos, for what its worth ive done mine so that it sucks the air from the cabin so that it reheats the already warm air, it is a lot quicker on the heat up, but it is slightly noisier in the aft cabin where the intake is.
