Eberspacher fuel tank position?

Not sure how the red diesel thing will pan out eventually but assuming we have to use white for propulsion I could really do with a second tank for my eberspacher so I can use red. Currently engine and Eber run off same tank. The existing tank is just below the level of the Eber and I am wondering if I fitted a new tank 4 feet below the Eber would the pump be able to supply fuel.

Shouldn't be a problem. Check the Eberspacher installation manual to be sure.

Yes but be sure your fuel pipe is as recommended. (edit....in terms of the bore I mean)

My installation manual has a similar diagram which indicates maximum head to the pump from the bottom of the fuel tank 750mm (same as above) but my diagram does not indicate maximum head from the pump to the Eberspacher. It just indicates maximum pipe run of 6 metres.

Not yet decided whether to fit an additional tank or just use white diesel in the Eberspacher. Will make a decision when HMRC makes everything clear.

I think the suction head is the most critical as the pump needs to prime itself, after the pump is mostly about pipe size and friction to effect flow rate in simple terms.

Mine is over 4ft above the tank. The pump is a foot above the tank.
