There were posts in October about some problems with D4 heaters, some of which I contributed. At the time I thought I had solved my problems (with my D5).
On Saturday last, it would not start at all. I traced the problem to a badly blocked filter at the entrance to the fuel metering pump. This is a tiny filter that you can prise out (carefully) with a small screwdriver. Mine was full of gunge.
Now that the filter is clean the heater works perfectly again on all heat settings and delivers more heat as well - obviously because it is getting the proper amount of fuel now.
