We have an Airtronic 5 Eberspacher and recently the 801 controller reads H and doesn't show the ambient temperature, also it sometimes needs 12v switching off between cycles to make the Airtronic start up. A long google search has shown nothing, all Eberspacher codes are numbers it seems. There is an old YBW thread but no conclusion.

Does anyone know how to reset the controller or what H means? All the LCD segments are working fully.

Thanks!

I don't think so, it slows down as it reaches the target temperature and picks up again as the boat cools

This has occurred before on this forum

unfortunately no solution was offered!

Most(all?) fault codes are numeric. To get the fault codes on the 801 press and hold the 'flame' button until 'dA' is displayed. May be worth running through the fault codes and clearing any.

if problem still persists perhaps you could borrow another 801 or fault code reader and see what happens -
I'd lend you mine but its in Germany.....

Perhaps the controller has gone u/s? May be its not getting sufficient power from the main unit - perhaps your batteries are u/s & not providing sufficient power?

Thanks. There are no fault codes and the heater is running fine but the controller just displays "H".

I have the same problem. Also, the heater does not work.

I temporarily solved the problem by joining the red and yellow terminals in the 801 connection block. The heater them works as usual.

I rang Eberspacher and sent them some emails. They could not tell me what H means.

Also, my 801 will not display any fault codes, which is worrying.

I suspect the 801 might be faulty but do not know how to check this.

Is there another (cheap) way to get the fault codes?

If it’s of any use I have a spare 801 controller that you’re welcome to borrow CW. Might be handy to see if H appears on mine when used with your heater.
