Eberspacer D2 won't fire

Hello
Iv bought a 2nd had eberspacher D2 diesel heater of eBay (proved working before it was sent) iv bench tested it and it won't fire up the fan runs slowly for about 20-30s then shuts down, it doesn't seem to go through a sequence to try and start up? The controller backlight seems to flash also? Anyone got any ideas?

If it ran before it's probably not picked up fuel yet or the pump is at the wrong angle and got an airlock, or maybe an air leak on the fuel pickup.

Count the slow flashes and check the manual if you have

Thanks fir the advice, got the heater working now. It's dam hot when it going! Only question I have is it smokes a little on fire up but clears and smokes a little on shutdown is this normal??

yup it is, with most oil heaters

Hi again, Iv got two lengths of exh pipe and a silencer one long length and one short, which order do these go in or does it matter?
