I have a Eberspächer d5lc with the Digital Timer, 401 Type, when i fire the heathe up i get the motor starts at full speed then slows down after around 5 secs, if i leave it for a few mins the pump does not seem to be pulsing at all, if i attach a 12v supply to the pump i can make it pulse, Can anyone advise if this is locked out and if there is anyway i can unlock it by shorting any pins?

check the glow plug first, its not possible to unlock the unit with out a timer or diagnostics with the unlocking featue. I dont think it is locked though.
For what they cost on ebay i would buy a 7 day timer with the unlock and diagnostics, it makes sense of any faults.

Is this a new installation or a problem with a set up which was previously ok. ?

From reading the reapair guide, If im correct i can put a switch in between trminats 4-6 to read the fault code, Is this correct?
