hmm, I dont know who would be so cheap to buy that. A brand new VP bellows kit is only about £80 and you sterndrive/boat is going to be at least 100 times that value I guess.

So I sold a pair of old falling apart slippers on eBay, I mean they were really rank and nasty.
Got £4 for them and won the bet /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
However, selling used parts like bellows, is just not nice. Someone could lose their boat, glug glug.

I would like to make it clear I would not fit them to my boat but on a positive note.
Bellows are recommended to be changed every 2 years.
They are good for 3 years
As such they are only 33% worn.
they will not fail until 4-6 years.
If I had a boat with 290s I would want to carry a spare bellows set in case mine failed while on holiday, it is easy to find a lift out but not always possible to source VP stock.
Everyone on this forum who has 290s and has not already got a spare set on board should.
Whats the point in carrying a brand new set when you can have these for £10 !
And heres the best bet
The bellows are of course tested, it could be argued they are better than new !

I have a set in my loft that look better than those, anyone want them just send a pm and an address.

I changed mine at 2 years old and even though I keep my drive trimmed up, (drying berth), the old one still looked almost like new. I have kept it on board as a spare, but to be honest would only put a used one on as a last resort. With the boat lifted and the drive dismantled it seems foolish not to put a brand new one on.

If two slightly used are going to be given totally FOC then I would gladly accept them to keep on board purely to be used in an emergency.
I certainly would not entertain bidding for the ones on ebay.

I will hunt them out tonight, mine are a set, the ones on ebay look more like a pair of bottom halves to me ie/ not one complete set.
