Hello
I have had a couple of weeks in the UK. booked on Easyjet out of Manchester to Athens on the 8Th July. Text message this afternoon that Easytwat have cancelled our flight.
I telephoned them yesterday to tell them that Air traffic control was on strike for 4 hours they replied there was not a problem and to turn up as scheduled.

Today +uck off its cancelled.
Phoned Czech airlines they had a flight 1 hour later than Easytwat from Manchester at a price £150 for 4 people less than I paid Easytwat 3 months ago, have to go to Prague for an hour though. Lesson learned

Try British Airways if you can!!!!

Sometimes the fares are a little more (not always) - but you don't get stung for extras like -------- boarding passes ? , bags ? , etc. etc.
The BA shorthaul network from Gatwick is really good, recognising that of course they don't go everywhere but rumour has it a big expansion of short haul at Gatwick is coming soon!

Above all else, they treat you well in a civil fashion.:D

If i could add a little here (not wishing to dis rtboss comments as he obviously knows) but the Greeks are on strike thursday (what a surprise!) the controlers only for four hours, but it is starting to annoy the charter companies, and who can blame them? Olympic have cancelled lots of flights for Thursday. On the last strike days it cost the likes of Thompson, First choice etc a lot of cash, they did a great job and landed in Prevesa, shipped the punters to Lefkas and ferry boated them to Kefalonia, plus paid any additional coach transfer costs.
Most of the companies based on Tourist income are well fed up! including accommodation owners and Taverna owners.
Sawing a branch off a tree whilst sitting on it springs to mind!

Hi

What did it for me was I had hired a car from Pops car rental for the 8Th they took the trouble to phone me in England on the 5Th to tell me about the 4 hour strike .I phoned Easytwat who told me there was not a problem.

Easytwat then text ed me on the 6th at 1700hrs and said the flight was now canceled and they had no flights to Athens in the next week at a comparable price. They could however get me on one, for £329 per person.

I did a quick search and found Czeck airway had flights at less than I paid Easytwat 3 months ago

I must travel often on SleezyJet... because I dont have a choice.

Only one worse is the a***OLE at Ryanair. I hope people hold their urine and relieve themselves on their cabin floors. :(

I've found, during the last 8 months, that BA is consistently cheaper than Easyjet on the flight to Athens.

The cut-price airlines cheat.

They don't include the cost of hold baggage in the headline fare; they give you a lower luggage weight limit, 15kg for Ryanair, 20kg for Easyjet compared to 23 kg for BA; they charge more for use of a card (BA only charge for a credit card) whether it's a debit or credit card.

All you need to do is book 6 weeks ahead of your flight date.

Now I often fly with EJ and am usually quite satisfied but recently they seem to be struggling to keep up with demand. If you notice every red flight is an EJ flight
