Any advice? There are a number if off white patches and streaks. 4 yr old boat and its weathering rather than anything else. However it does seem impervious to straightforward washing.

It seems as if it is in the early stages of oxidation, although a little early, what are you washing it with?

Edit: I thought your 'topsides' were black? oh wait are you doing what I think you are doing?

Looks like i am going to have to post a 'topsides' thread

Ok - stand corrected. The white bits are the bits above the rubbing strake and include the coachroof. So perhaps you would call this the coachroof/ deck? The topsides ( ref the other thread, are indeed black - and previous advice was helpful and the black bits look like a mirror!)

Glad to hear it, the horizontal surfaces will be affected more by the Sun's ageing due to angle of exposure, sorry to say it but I would suggest you need to do what you did to the black to the white now.

Because the surface (under magnification) is rougher than when new, dirt, stains and v small particles are being trapped in the tiny peaks and lows in the gel coat. Try what you performed on the black to the white, hey presto shiny easy to maintain gel coat once again.
