It now feels as though the easterly has been blowing relentlessly for weeks and it is driving me slightly crazy.

Although I am at home I am not used to it coming from this direction and I am feeling really hemmed in - which is weird because I am still walking the dog three times a day and being outside as often as I want

I want to go sailing and the wind is showing no signs of co-operating

Iy got me thinking - the last we heard from Ollie was that he was in Wells-next-the- sea and looking forward to a rest day or two

They have a saying that Wells will only let you go when its good and ready

Ollie - are you still in Wells?

The bar frightened me

I arrived in June and did not get away until March

resulting in about a dozen vlogs made in wells

ollie

Seen him and his fine looking craft in Hull today. Still very windy on the Humber so I expect he will sit tight until for the moment.

Not sure what yacht Ollie has, but I don't blame him for staying in Hull, It's been blowing a hoolie from the East / S East here all day, and there'll be a horrible wind against tide chop when the ebb sets in, you'd be getting hammered all the way out past the binks.

Great fun if your only out for a few hours though :D

Just popped my head out the hatch and he is still here in Hull Marina, flags flying in the wind, and there has been a lot of it.
He was having gearbox problems and trying to get it fixed.
Ollie joined the Hull Sailing Club for a night out (Curry and Beers) last week and I have to say he is one nice guy and promoting a good cause. He has been through a lot in his short life. He is a walking advert of why we should all join the Lukemia register

Ahh, the memories. During my round britain back in 2008 I was stuck in Soutwold for 10 days with very heavy rain and gale force Northerly winds. My boat was a Hunter Europa (19 foot) and was designed for racing, which sounded fun, but meant the interior was minimal/simplistic/rubbish.

It will get better guys, just wait till you hit Scotland!

Probably better to not actually hit Scotland. Much of it is hard and rocky with pointy bits.
