A short yomp up the hill from The Thames at Abingdon Easy Hanneys only remaining curry house
is up for sale.
Bummer.
Of course this begs the question why did the fragrant residents of Easy Hanney ever require a curry house in the first instance?
eh?
Did it fufill some kind of village need?
Some deficiency in the public hospitality of the village?
eh?
Of course once this goes there will be next to no actual hostelries left in the village.
Nothing.Nada.Zilch.
The residents of East Hanney it seems don't do 'eating out' for strangers or themselves.
Lord knows what they actually eat behind those closed doors but it sure as heck aint fayre for
incomers.
Perhaps they are all just kind of, food cretins, ?
Soooo.... if you want knees up muvver brown East Hanney sure as heck aint your kind of places
Be warned.

Well HH, another load of bolleux.

There is no short walk to East Hanney from Abingdon-it is AT LEAST 6 miles by road and across country is possible but very tricky. For a start, the A34 is in the way plus lots of fences and irate towards ramblers type landowners.

I did not even know EH had a curry house, so not on my gastronomic list.

You would be better off, if curry was your choice, to actually use an Abingdon curry house.

But if you chose to live in EH and were pissed the curry house was going, Wantage is your friend.

They all deliver these days!

Any one with a modicum of intelligence would know that rural villages like East Hanny, its West namesake, Charney Basset, Goosey-take your passport if you go to Goosey-Pusey and Garford are all similar.

And have been for all the time I have lived in the area-almost 50 years.

On another note-if you have nothing positive to say about local matters, why bother?

No body else does, so there cant be many problems, can there.

Except perhaps in your imagination.

The Owner also owns The Dil Raj in Abingdon & another one in Cholsey, apparently
so quite a chain then.
East Hanney has 2 Chateaux in its centre and a huddle of peasants bothies that look like they've been there
since The Norman Conquest.
You do not actually ever see the inhabitants though as you pass through.
Its not like a Small German village with merry wood eagles being carved out of doors from 5am till sundown.
In fact I wonder if the inhabitants-assuming they exist-ever do any work at all unless they are busy opposing the building of homes for people that do actually work?
There might be one bus a week ,Im not entirely sure.
The thing is people moan about being 'isolated'.
I can only assume that the stock here is incorrigibly thick voting for idjut parties time and again
with idjut results.
I think England would be better off without these type of people frankly though what exactly they look or sound like Ive never quite fathomed
since they are like the animals at the zoo who are always 'hiding'.
C.mon East Hanney show us what your made of!

They do not seem to be contributing anything whatsoever to anybody.

So, more than one curry outlet in Wantage HH.

I ran a motorbike shop in Church Street for many years. Wantage was-and most probably still is-frequented by stroppy youths doing what stroppy youths do, fighting, swearing getting pissed.

And it was ever thus.

It is just like Midsummer Norton in Midsummer Murders really, a rough uncompromising place where being streetwise keeps you out of trouble.

One of my customers did a double shotgun murder at Ardington, then blew his head off with the same shotgun.

I suggest you leave if its all a bit too much for you...........................................
