East coast venue

[Independence]

I'm looking to book a venue on the east coast, ideally Essex / Suffolk areas, for between 20 and 30 yachtsmen to include a 2-3 hour synposium followed by an evening meal.

Needs to have good access by road and nearby hotels.

Doesn't need to be a yacht club but it would be nice if it did. Does anyone have any recommendations?

West Mersea YC? They have a big upstairs room, don't know about local accommodation though.
Maybe Colne YC at Brightlingsea?

The new clubhouse at Royal Harwich YC in Woolverstone is another obvious option with various room options. The office can give you an idea of costs and availability. They do have some limit on the number of events that they can host with no members present (i believe) but otherwise they are keen to have the place used. Handy for both the A12 and A14.

You previously asked for info about Foxs Yacht club. It's where the East Coast Forum held their latest event so you will find many positive comments on here about it.
The marina is 1 mile from the A14 and there is a Premier Inn over the road and many more hotels etc less than 2 miles away in Ipswich.

Colchester united have some good function rooms at their new stadium. Just off the A12 and plenty of hotels in and around the town.
