We were never attacked by pirates. They must have known that we were armed.

I witnessed a pirate attack once. We were in Kolobrzeg in Poland and there was a traditional boat nearby. During the evening a large group of people turned up for an evening’s meal and drink, and more drink, on board. Halfway through the evening a group of blokes dressed up as pirates boarded the boat among much noise and shooting, when they carried off some of the women. And a good time was had by all.
