My youngest grand daughter will 15 and a true petrol head will only come if she can drive. Likes the sail boat in Portugal but first love is the 600hp lurking in the Pond - she doesn’t get to refuel it?

Well a good bit of Fred Drift ere; (maybe) few years ago i was wearing an eye patch and accompanied my Wife as her driver to local Superstore; my plan was to take a Coffee Break in the cafe whilst She did the shopping; well i sat away from most in a quiet corner, being aware of the Eye Patch; a Mother dumped her son on the next table whilst she went and ordered the snacks, the young son saw my eye patch, and could not take his eyes off me, when Mum arrived back she sat with her back to me, the young son was badgering her to 'look at the Pirate' behind her, she was being polite to son but not turning round to face me, son by now was quite agitated so Mum turns around and looked straight at me, her eyes opened wide, she recovered from embarasement and started appologising to me for looking straight at me, I said thats ok I think son thinks that I am a real Pirate , yes she stated, he is infatuated by Pirates think that he believes you are one !
Yes Pirates are magical, what our world needs is definetely more Pirates amoungst us, and what a better setting for Pirates than Essex Marshes and rivers which are just magical in their own right
Some form of Normality eh ? cripes pirates Day, perhaps someone close can invite Boris for his pinions on it ? {#
Mind you sounds like a bloody good idea to me, great fun for all {#
Maybe I should have been more detailed in my original post, but I thought that people would not think I would be so stupid as to be suggesting a mosh pit.
It's a Pirates Day. Dress up as Pirates and have fun. Or is having fun banned?
If we can't land and have BBQ's in individual groups 10 metres apart, then we could all dress up, hoist Jolly Rogers and have a sail around cork sand whilst hoisting insults on signal flags.
It's whatever we decide to make it.
If this still offends people, then ***** it, I'll delete the post and forget about it.
What a brilliant idea. I will probably not be back in the water until next season ? however if I am floating I will be there. Rum in handAhoy ya scurvy lot
We're thinking about holding the Pirates day on Saturday the 8th of August, with a raincheck on the 15th if the weather doesn't play ball. ( I know, it's the UK in August, what could possibly go wrong? )
HW is at approx 1530 which I think would allow plenty of time for people to arrive and have fun before a BBQ.

Will Rum be obligatory?
Hi All
Due to the almost daily changing status of what we can and can't do, to make it easy to have the relevant information in one place East Coast Cruising have kindly agreed to host an event page.
As with last year, I'm going to 'announce' event in multiple places, so it also makes it much easier for me to just say 'click here for details' ( as I'm a lazy bugger )
Here's the link to the page:
East Coast Pirates : East Coast Cruising
If / when ever anything changes I'll update the page and also post here, there, and everywhere
Yo ho ho and all that
David
As the East Coast Pirates Weekend has been taken over as a club event and I (like many others) will be unable to access this link?
