I've just received the new edition of the ECP and very good too. It was nice to see familar names in the acknowledgements!

For general info and for those visiting this year - the LImehouse section is a little out of date as it shows an old aerial photo which doesn't show the new pontoons on the north side of the basin, including the new 'visitor' corner that opened earlier this year. There is room for several yachts alongside, or many more rafted up. BWML reckon they'll get 12 canal boats crammed in there. There is water and power and shore access, but it is along walk around to the toilet block.

There will also be less pressure on the facilities as the residential berth-holders (50 berths) now have a private facilities block. The 'old' block is now for leisure berth-holders and visitors.

I think you'll be due a credit for the update!

Thanks for buying the book!
It's tad difficult (i.e. near impossible) to get aerial pics in London these days, unfortunately. It's surprising what one can do with, er, photo-editing, but that was a little beyond my abilities. I did talk to the Lady HM about the new pontoons when we did the research visit last year, but got the distinct impression that the new corner would tend to be filled with narrow boats etc and that visitors would usually be berthed where they've always been.
Plans, like pontoons, tend to come and go at various marinas all the time so we thought it best left for the visitor to find out once we've helped them get into the place! After all, we all end up where the HM decides to put us on the day anyway.

there have been no narrow boats in the corner this year yet! But we have had some really super visiting yachtsmen. Including the Kiwi version of Tom Cunliffe, some of Sweden's famous sailors, a humungous motor boat from Florida and some other really interesting long-distance cruisers. We are benefitting from St Kats turning them all away :-) It does make life interesting. The ECF crowd are booked in for the July gathering - looking forward to that!
