Anyone know of an East Coast yard where I put put a 36' yacht ashore for a couple of weeks so I can fit a bowthruster?

My usual yard isn't keen on DIYers or 'outside' labour.

Try Harry King's at Pin Mill, Tel No 01473 780258.

I would think Gus would not have a problem at this time of year, the yard is pretty empty, and certainly many owners do their own work.

Ipswich Haven Marina are good. Handy for DIY supplies, chandlers at Haven marina and Foxes marina, beer, local engineers, spares for the bits you break /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif loads of room this time year, plus summer lift rates and good parking, power/water in yard, did I mention beer?, good road access.

I'm at Fox's too. No problems with working on your own boat, though it can take a bit of nagging to get work done by them as they're very busy.

One problem there may be access if you are deep draft, can only get up at top of spring tides for some yachts.

Otherwise agree, friendly helpful place, rather dusty and gritty though.

Excellent food at W&FYC nearby.
